Just a quick update today. The sleuths among us will have noticed that there was a lighting change peeking out in our guest room update on Monday. Here’s the scoop…

I’m a big West Elm fan and they have these amazing jar lights that retail for just over $100 a pop.

Lovely right? Just before the holidays, my sister and I were at a Winners here in KW when I stumbled on a light by Stonehouse that was a dead ringer for the West Elm version.

The light was marked “As Is” (with several red stickers over the original tag). After a quick inspection for cracks, missing pieces, etc., the $25 triple mark-down price was just too good to pass up. I took a gamble, and, as it turns out, it was a winner. Everything was in working order with the only missing piece being the mounting bracket, which my amazing friends at The Lighting Shoppe in Cambridge hooked me up with free-of-charge (how amazing is that!). My guess is that someone bought it, couldn’t figure out how to mount it, returned it, and the light sat scaring people away with its “As Is” tag through several price mark-downs.

So here’s the $25 lighting update.

Cross another boob-light off of the Moor house roster. Hallelujah. I may keep my eye out for a nicer bulb, but this suits me fine for the time being.

Have an amazing weekend; drink something sparkly, take a long bath, and soak up these last few weeks of snowy weather.
